My Experience

With over 10 years of corporate industry experience, I have decided to alter my career direction. My name is Sabrina Woodworth and I am a Project Manager for a major American Corporation. Moving forward, I want to share my passion for helping others through teaching aspiring professionals critical work lessons that will assist them in having a long and successful career full of opportunities.

Why Work Lessons 101?

January 2006, I was in my last semester at the University of British Columbia studying Materials Engineering. The only thing I wanted after graduation was to stay living in the beautiful city of Vancouver. Over a decade later, thinking back on this short-sighted goal, I certainly see how far I have grown in both my life and career.

My career started off in Vancouver, just like I wanted but has since taken me overseas and throughout several major cities. I have had the opportunity to travel to different cultures and observe the world through my career progression. Throughout all these journeys, I kept my journal by my side, recording all my observations of the corporate environment including my failures, mistakes, and successes, as well as, life changing conversations with supervisors, peers, and mentors.

As I entered the second decade of my career, I began to reflect on what I had learned through my progression. I went through all my personal journals and began a list of all the critical work lessons I had learned throughout my career; several of these lessons I learned the hard way and have seen many peers make the same blunders. These lessons will help prepare aspiring professionals for their careers. If I were to go back to the start of my career, these are the work lessons I would have wanted to know.

This website is dedicated to sharing the critical work lessons that they don't teach in school.
